Als Producer, Engineer und Mixer erhielt er unter anderem Grammys für seine Arbeit an Tom Pettys Wildflower Album, Santanas Supernatural, als auch für One By One von den Foo Fighters. Seine Credit-Liste liest sich wie das Who is Who des Rockbusiness und beinhaltet Größen wie Sting, Dido, Johnny Cash, Counting Crows, Tom Petty, Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, Red Hot Chili Peppers und viele mehr. Die Jim Scott - Rock Drums bietet einen exquisite Auswahl aus Jims Sammlung an Rock Drums der 50er, 60er und 70er Jahre. Diese wurden in Jims eigenen PLYRZ Studio mit erstklassigem analogem Equipment und über seine 8048 Neve Konsole aufgenommen. Zusätzlich bietet diese Library zwei weitere Drum-Highlights: Drumkits eingespielt von Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) und Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers). Diese Drums wurden in den legendären Sound City Studios über eine 8028 Neve Konsole aufgenommen. Die Drums der Jim Scott Rock Drums Library sind unter anderem auf Alben von Robbie Robertson, den Dixie Chicks, Barenaked Ladies und den Red Hot Chili Peppers zu hören. Das Jim Scott Rock Drums Combo Pack beinhaltet sowohl Volume 1 [ArtNr. fnn630128], als auch Volume 2 [ArtNr. fnn630129].In Volume 1 sind die folgenden Drumkits enthalten:Kit 7: Chad Smith Satin Ebony Gretsch Die Kits 7 und 8 sind sicherlich die Highlights dieser Library. Kit 7 ist Chad Smiths (Red Hot Chili Peppers) persönliches Gretsch Drumset, welches er für seine Studioaufnahmen benutzt. Eindrucksvoll zu hören ist Jim Scotts Arbeit auf dem Album Californication der RHCP zu hören. Hier war Jim Scott sowohl als Engineer tätig, als auch für den Mix verantwortlich. Dieses Drumkit wurde in den legendären Sound City Studios in L.A. aufgenommen. Kit 8: Steve Ferrone Metalic Green Gretsch Dieses Gretsch Steve Ferrone Signature Kit setzt Steve Ferrone für seine Studioarbeit ein. Zum Einsatz kommt Steves Black Beauty Snare aus dem Jahr 1920, die er auch für Tom Pettys Welthit You Wreck Me auf dem Album Wildflowers verwendet hat. Als Engineer hat Jim Scott den Sound dieses Albums sicherlich stark geprägt. Auch dieses Kit wurde in den Sound City Studios aufgenommen. Kit 2: Ludwig Blue Sparkle Das Kit liegt in zwei Version vor, einmal mit Sticks und einmal mit Besen gespielt. Jim Scott: Bought from Mel Bay Music in Kirkwood Missouri Sept. 1966. I was 14 years old. I cut grass all summer earning 2 or 3 dollars per yard. I had my eye on a red sparkle kit from the Montgomery Ward catalog for $119.00. When Id saved the money, I asked my Mom and Dad to take me to the store to get it. Instead they took me to Mel Bay Music and my Dad insisted that I buy quality. I had to buy the cases too. It seemed like a fortune, almost $700.00 dollars with Zildjian cymbals. I went on to form Soul and the Reactions and The London Globe in high school. I added the second Tom-Tom and hotdog mount in 1967 because everybody was doing it and it looked so cool. Im glad my Dad made me buy the cases, because the drums are still beautiful. Kit 4: Kent Orange Sparkle Das Kit liegt in zwei Version vor, einmal mit Sticks und einmal mit Blast Sticks. Jim Scott: Bought at the Saugus Swap Meet in the fall of 2006. The set came complete with a matching snare, cases, hardware, and cymbals... including the 20 Zildjian sizzle cymbal that we used on Kit #1. The woman that was selling it told me that someone had offered her $90.00 for it.... but that he didnt have any F*#@ing money. I told her I did and bought it immediately. Kit 1: Ludwig Red Sparkle Jim Scott: Bought at the Saugus Swap Meet in the summer of 1994. They were on the ground with a big pile of bad hardware. The older Gentleman selling them was asking $600.00 for everything. I offered him $300.00 for the 3 drums. He politely declined. As I walked away I was feeling remorseful. Moments later the old Gent tapped me on the shoulder and told me it was a deal. I have used these drums, especially the Kick, on almost every record I have done since. Best $300.00 I ever spent. They are currently set up in the tracking room at PLYRZ ready to rock. Kit 3: Ludwig Champagne Sparkle Jim Scott: Bought at the Saugus Swap Meet in the spring of 2000. It came with a second 12 tom-tom.... but it wasnt original to the set, it had a natural maple shell. I gave it to Don Heffington as a gift. I paid $175.00 for this little beauty of a set. Until recently I kept this kit at home for my kids to play on. Kit 6: Ludwig Sky Blue Pearl Jim Scott: Bought at the Saugus Swap Meet in the summer of 1998. There was a movie prop guy there with a truckload of movie stuff and merchandise. The drums were absolutely pristine, with a matching snare and era correct right down to the hardware, cymbals and cases. He told me they were used for the Tempations movie. I paid $500.00 for the whole thing. The drums are clearly visible during a night club sequence in the movie. I was making a record with Todd Thibaud at Sound City at that time. His drummer offered me $600.00.... asked me if i wanted to make a C note on the deal...
